When the motion picture "The Knee Shack" was looking to include a live performance of a reggae artist, Ras Droppa stepped up to answer the call. Not only did his music become a significant part of the soundtrack of the film, but he appears throughout the movie performing live on stage along with his band. Production of the opening and closing scenes, involved moving tracking camera shots and audio playback which forced the band to remain in sync from take to take. |
"The Knee Shack", an independent theatrical motion picture about life, love, friendship and reggae music, filmed entirely throughout the NYC area. The story, much like reggae music, involves the blending of different lives from different cultures and how those differences make life what it is. Ras Droppa was recently featured in the June 2005 issue of hi Magazine. His interview was included in an article about Bob Marley and his legacy as well as the future of reggae music. hi Magazine is distributed in over 20 countries throughout Africa and the Middle East and although the magazine is primarily distributed in Arabic, an English version is available online. |
In the fall of 2003, the New York State Lottery cast Ras Droppa as a featured performer in a nationally broadcast commercial to promote their NY Lotto "Winner Wonderland" campaign.
